PipeID: Pipe naming convention is [upstream structure ID]-[downstream structure ID]. Structure naming convention is [Two letter storm basin abbreviation][Unique four-digit ID]. If more than one pipe has the same upstream and downstream structure, a suffix lowercase letter is added to each structure ID. Example: Two pipes with the same upstream and downstream structures could be named SS0551a-SS0101a and SS0551b-SS0101b.
Type: Pipe – closed conveyance system, Culvert – tunnel carrying a stream or open conveyance under a road or railroad, Open – all open channels such as streams, ditches, swales, etc. See Streams GIS layer to determine if streams that are classified as natural waterways. If the pipe is of type Other, details can be listed in Notes.
Owner: Line can be owned by the CITY, PRIV - Private entity, or UVA. PRIV (UNCONFIRMED) indicates the pipe is believed to be private but a deed search to check if there is a public easement is needed.
Easement: Y/A presence of public easement. N/A applies to City-owned pipes on City-owned property or in the right-of-way (ROW) as a public easement is not needed.
Status: LIVE or ABD (abandoned).
Size: If there are multiple barrels, include the number of barrels in parentheses at the beginning. Default unit is feet. Specify “ if in inches. Diameter of circular pipes. Length x width of culverts. Include major axis and minor axis of elliptical pipes and note unusual shape in Notes. Example: A 10 ft long 8 fit wide triple barreled box culvert would have its size noted (3) 10x8.
Top Width: Top width of open channels.
Material: RCP: Reinforced Concrete Pipe, HDPE: High-density Polyethylene, VC: Vitrified Clay, PVC: Polyvinyl chloride, CMP: Corrugated Metal Pipe, DIP: Ductile Iron Pipe. If pipe has been lined: RCP w/ liner, HDPE w/ liner, VC w/ liner, PVC w/ liner, CMP w/ liner. Riprap, Earthen (includes open channels, natural channels, ditches, etc.), Concrete, Other: other material. Write in Notes.
Depth In/Depth Out: Depth in feet to the pipe invert from the top of structure.
Invert In: Invert elevation going into the pipe (should always be greater than invert out).
Invert Out: Invert elevation leaving the pipe.
Z Source: Source of elevation values. Can be from As-Built, Survey, Survey-grade GPS, or Map-grade GPS.
Z Date: Date elevation data was obtained in the case of GPS or survey or approved in the case of As-Builts and survey that are part of a site plan.
XY Source: Source for XY location of pipe. Can be from As-Built, Survey, Survey-grade GPS, or Map-grade GPS.
XY Date: Date XY location data was obtained in the case of GPS or survey or approved in the case of As-Builts and survey that are part of a site plan.
CIPP: Identifies if a pipe has been lined. CIPP stands for "Cured in place pipe."
CIPP Date: Date lining was placed.
CCTV: Identifies if pipe has had CCTV video taken.
CCTV Date: Date of pipe video recording.
Notes: Clarifying information about the pipe. Primarily for notes about the condition of the pipe found during field investigation. Can include notes about pipe condition and access.
Old ID: Pipe ID from before structure ID system moved from a three-digit unique ID to four-digit. If the three-digit numeric suffix is '000' there was no structure at the end of the pipe. If PIPEID had a three-digit alpha prefix ending in 'P' the pipe does not have a structure on either side.

",
